Lab technician: The salary for this position depends on the candidates’ experience and qualifications. We also offer a competitive benefits package that includes generous insurance, family benefits, and subsidized housing if available. The starting date is Aug 1st, 2022 or earlier. Lab technician supports our research activities in a variety of tasks, including reagent and sample preparation, genotyping and management of mouse colonies, as well as hands-on experimental work.

Qualifications (required)

1)           Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English (English is the primary language used at CIBR).

2)           Basic computer skills to handle procurement, invoice payment, and accounting using MS Office.

3)           Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with lab members.

Qualifications (preferred)

1)           Prior experience working as a researcher, research assistant or lab technician at an academic institution or industry

2)           Previous experience in research using model animals (mouse, rat)

3)           BA/BS, MS, PhD or equivalent experience and training

For all these positions, successful candidates will have excellent organization skills, documented laboratory experience, as well as practical knowledge on techniques and methods in one or more of the following areas: biochemistry and molecular biology, cell biology (including cell culture), tissue preparation and histological techniques (brain slice), rodent studies (behavior experiments and virus vector microinjection into the brain). Experience in neuroscience or molecular biology research will be an advantage.
